Recently, our church switched from one service on Sunday to two. We now have a morning and evening service, rather than only a morning. We used to get done with church around 1, and then ate lunch together as a church. Our schedule has changed so that we eat together in the evenings instead of at lunchtime. The morning service gets done around 12, and then everyone goes home and has lunch with their families. This can be difficult, because there is not time right before lunch to prepare the meal. Usually, you get home and everyone wants to eat right away. What I want to attempt to do in this post, is make a list of ideas for Sunday lunches to help give each other ideas. As we try new things that work for us, I will continue to add them to the list and post a link to the recipe if needed.
Sunday Lunch Ideas
- Panini’s (These worked great for my family because their was only three of us eating. We made the sandwiches on Saturday, then wrapped them, and put them in the fridge. When we got home from church, we heated up our George Foreman and cooked them real quick. The thing is, you can only cook about two sandwiches at a time. This was ok for us because we only had to cook a few sandwiches, but it might be more difficult for a larger family.)
- Soups (Just whip it up on Saturday, and put it in the crockpot Sunday before church on low. Then you can come home to a hot bowl of soup!)
This is all I got for now, but let me know what has worked for you, and I will add it to the list.
